What is Kenpo 4 Kids?

Kenpo 4 Kids is a character education and life skills program which incorporates one of the most respected martial arts in the world today - Kenpo Karate. The aim is to teach kids, in a fun yet challenging way those things that they will need to lead a happy and rewarding life. Kenpo 4 Kids serves multiple purposes simultaneously. We call these the ABC's of Success - Academics, Behaviour and Character.

Kenpo 4 Kids can mold ordinary young people into effective leaders by instilling children with the self-confidence they will need to make the right decisions. Our society seems to have trouble transmitting healthy values to young people.

So How Does Kenpo 4 Kids Achieve This?

This is accomplished by addressing needs. These needs can be defined and grouped as Physical, Intellectual, Social and Emotional. These needs are like windows in a home through which children learn to view the environment surrounding them. What they see through these windows is how they learn to act in all areas of their life. These areas include Personal, Family, School and Community.

Modern day Kenpo has its roots in Hawaii were the spirit of O'hana (family), is an integral part of Hawaiian culture. Consequently, strong family values are represented and highly focused on in the Kenpo 4 Kids program. Our primary aim is children and their welfare. Our instructors strive to act as guides on an individual child's journey towards respectful, mature adulthood.

So in a nutshell Kenpo 4 Kids aims to provide a home where the needs of children are positively addressed in an integrated and meaningful way to enhance all areas of their life. This home is built on a foundation of Learning, Earning, Caring and Sharing.

Underpinning all this is the Kenpo 4 Kids motto based on Respect and Consideration which serves as a moral code for children to live their life by. With no Code there can be no honor.  With no Honor there can be no heroes. We need more heroes in today's world.
