The winner of the drawing competition for the pins is Isabella Bonaccorso from Sydney. I would like to congratulate her and all the k4k students who summited their drawings. No winners were picked for Rat Brat at this time,however new characters will be introduced at the end of the year..Isabella's drawing will now be made as a charm . Again thank you all

On Saturday 17th June Kenpo 4 Kids team members from all over Australia and New Zealand took part in a “KICK – A – THON” to raise much needed funds for the Day of Difference Foundation. This foundation was created by the parents of Sophie Delezio. It’s intention is to help other children so as to ensure that Sophie’s suffering has not been in vain.

The Day of Difference Foundation is a health promotion charity focusing on the prevention and control of burns-related disease. Their goal is to do so by using the funds raised to buy the equipment and fund the research that hospitals use to not only combat, but also control the spread of such diseases, which is often the key to the recovery and survival of burns patients. As an organization, they work to prevent suffering due to the complications of disease, skin conditions and alienation by society.

Kenpo 4 Kids® elected to organize this activity as an example of our social conscience and a tangible demonstration by our students of the value of personal sacrifice and how each person can give back to their community.

Our kickathon was held at the Birch Carroll and Coyle Megaplex Cinema at Indooroopilly Shopping Center

25 students kicked. long, hard and proud to amass a grand total of 19,619 kicks. Each student did 5 x 2 minute rounds and averaged 784 kicks each.

Out top 3 kickers won tickets to the movies.

1. Carissa K. with 1,105 kicks
2. Jamie E. with 1017 kicks and;
3. Oliver M. with 1000 kicks

Birch Carroll and Coyle also donated movie tickets to our adult helpers as well.

All students received "Vita Mini" gift bags from Heron Pharmaceuticals as joint sponsors of the event. Heron also donated $250.00 to cover costs

Many thanks also to Indooroopilly Shopping Center who donated $500.00
Donut King provided free doughnuts for the kids and Boost Juice privided free refreshments.

It was a great morning and we're hopeful of raising around $2,500 dollars from sponsorships.

Thank you to all all studenst who gave their all. Thank you all our parents and helpers on the day. And a very special thank you to Inddorooplilly Shopping Center and our sponsors for your most generous support.

Each team member has been invited to perform a minimum one hundred kicks in their individual attempts to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than themselves.

Congratulations to the following students from K4K Forest Lake Dojo who competed at the 1st Kyoshi Cup All Styles Invitational Tournament at Tweed Heads NSW on Sunday 14th August, 2005.
Madelyn C. (1st Place); Carissa K. (4th Place); and Natasha P. (4thj Place. All 3 girls competed in the individual Kata or Forms divison and thrilled the crowd with a mighty demonstration of Kenpo self techniques.
This event served as a warm up tournament to the World Championships in Disneyland USA on 1st october, 2005. The girls are now hungry for even greater success. Sensei Perez and Sensei Coupe are so proud of your achievements. Check out the photo of the girls in the K4K gallery.
